And just like that summer break is officially over for @timlovesica 😢. When you marry a teacher, summer break means soo much to the family. A little sad to say bye to summer 😢. 🌸 This year Tim is back to teaching in a public school & will be teaching middle school math. Love this man’s heart for kids & teens. We run into his past students all the time (his first set of 5th graders is now in college 😳😱), and you can tell how much his past students love him & look up to him. 🌸 I’m so proud of you, Timmy & I love you madly.
Ranunculus are my absolute favorite. I can photograph them all day, everyday. #icaimagesweddings
This week I watched a new father cry at the sight of his baby’s newborn pictures, another father cry at the sight of his stunning daughter in her wedding dress, and a groom cry watching his bride walk down the aisle & while exchanging wedding vows. It’s been a pretty emotional week & I adore it. 🌸 I love capturing emotions, especially when fathers & husbands are overflowing with them & are brought to tears of joy. These moments are such treasures to capture. Captured this heartfelt moment while second shooting for @mrclarencechan
Fun fact, I don’t like when I don’t know someone in the same room as me & I always make an effort to introduce myself to those people I don’t know & chat with them until they seem comfortable enough to be left alone again. 🌸 I do this because I remember exactly what it felt like in elementary school when I was the new guy & no one would talk to me or include me because they already had their own friends. 🌸 No one likes that feeling of being uninvited & left out & and as an adult I refuse to let anyone in the same room as me feel that way if I can help it 🌸 On a wedding day however, I’m the “new guy” in a crowd of people who all know & love each other, & I adore watching & capturing the interactions of all this love shared in one room & it’s totally ok if no one talks to me & instead everyone enjoys themselves to the fullest. (9 times out of 10 though, I usually walk away from a wedding with a few new friends because I just love people) 🌸 I’m curious to know: are you a people person or do you have stranger danger😉? 🌸 Captured this photo while second shooting for my friend @mrclarencechan
🌸 It’s never lost on me that DC is such a beautiful city. A city that remembers & honors those who went before us, those who fought for freedom & justice for us all. 🌸 Remembering is such a powerful gift. Even when life is moving so fast & is busy beyond belief, take time to pause and remember how you got here. Remember the whos, the whys, and the whats that got you to where you are today. 🌸 I’ve been doing that a lot of that these days as we near my 1 year anniversary since my last & final lung collapse. It’s been the craziest journey, & by the grace & goodness of God I know I couldn’t have gotten through this year alone. 🌸 Gearing up for another fun & busy work weekend. Excited to shoot another wedding with my girl @hannahsmithphotography 😘, visit with family from out of town & capture more sweet new born babies at the hospital 😍😍😍. 🌸 New additions (aka game changers) to my wedding styling kits this season have been these velvet styling ribbons in various colors from amazon, my new styling mat (not pictured here but photos are coming 🙌), new trays, & more command hooks. 🌸 To my fellow wedding pros: what’s in your styling kits? Current mood 🙌 because tomorrow a new Aldi’s is opening up super close to our house 🎉. I’ve been waiting all summer for this like a nerd 😏. 🌸 Also I’ve been waiting all summer for my bike to get fixed & yesterday we took my newly fixed bike downtown for a late afternoon bike ride. DC bike rides are my absolute favorite. 🌸 @timlovesica thanks for knowing when I’m in desperate need of adventure & fresh air, after non-stop 3 weeks of work. #remoadventures
With school starting back up again soon, I want to send all my love & well wishes to the recent graduates who are headed off to college or grad school. (That means you @catsaoud & you too @theduranske). 🌸 Hope you guys lived it up this summer & are ready & excited for this next chapter of your lives. Praying that this next season in your lives is filled with adventure, growth & blessings. 🌸 I realize how unique my job is & I feel so blessed with the opportunity to celebrate the changing of seasons in so many lives. From dating to engagement to marriage, to marriage then pregnancy to parenthood, from high school to college...
