Hair & Makeup Tips for your Portrait Session!

01. Have someone else do your hair and makeup!

If you are feeling extra glamorous, or simply don’t want to stress out about your hair & makeup, hire a professional hairstylist or makeup artist. If you are not good at doing it yourself but have a friend/family member who is, maybe ask them to help you get ready.

ENGAGED COUPLES: This is a great time to do your makeup & hair trial with your stylist before your wedding day.

02. Make your Skin Shine!

I watched a makeup artist rub Aquaphor all over a models skin throughout a photoshoot and I’ll never be the same! This is was they do for every magazine spread where a model has the most dewy skin!

03. Wear 30% MORE makeup than your daily make up

Even with the very best cameras in the world, not all colors and not all details can be completely picked up by the camera. Wearing makeup that is slightly heavier than your day to day makeup allows the camera to pick up more detail in your face for your portraits.

04. Bring a comb for those flyaways

Feel free to have a comb nearby during your photoshoot for any flyaways. My secret to taming my flyaways in my own pictures is my husband’s hair wax! It stays put better than hairspray & I don’t have to use too much product to do the job.
