Alexandria, VA | Studio Engagement Portraits: Kimber + Brian

True story: I met Kimber and Brian on a plane ride home from Dallas last fall.

On that flight, I ended up being one of the last to board & there were only a few seats left for me to choose from. The seats left were all middle seats & one aisle seat next to a cute couple who loved totally in love & happy, & like being around happy people so I plopped down next to them & buckled up for our flight.

Though Kimber & Brian did not say much to me during the flight, you could totally tell that they were kind & that they were in love. Sometime midflight I put my earphones on and went straight to editing photos & got lost in my work for a few hours. It wasn’t till the end of the flight when we were asked to put our laptops away did I look up & start a conversation with the two who were seated next to me, it was Brian & Kimber & they asked me what I was working on and the rest is history.

Kimber has actually proposed to Brian during the trip they were returning from & it was such a joy to be able to come full circle and celebrate their engagement with them by capturing their portraits at Union 206’s studio. Kimber is a creative & had a monochrome vision for their engagement portraits & I loved bringing that vision to life. Kimber even handmade & designed Brian’s incredibly engagement ring! Brian and Kimber are so much fun to capture & are such a playful & sweet couple. I will forever cherish the uniqueness of how we met & the uniqueness of your story, it’s a beautiful one!
